Some pics from my trip to Newport Aquarium

Here are some photos from my trip to Newport Aquarium.  I did not think it was all that great. Lots of freshwater fish was kind of sick.  Plus their fish selection is not that great.  However, they do have 3 amazing shar rays. These guys are huge.

Blind Mexican Tetra Astyanax mexicanus).  These guys were fat and impressive, but it were also trying to pass off white crayfish as cave crays. For shame. We know the difference

Baby Robins

Found these guys near my mom's house.  They are just laying around right near my car.  Good thing nobody stepped on them.  I think these baby birds are American Robin or Turdus migratorius.  

I look very angry because it took me an hour to find the stupid nest to put them back in.  I looked at every tree and saw nothing.  After an hour I was kind of freaking out because I did not know what to do.  Than I saw their small nest.  The stupid birds built it in the bushes, right near where every parks their cars.

Fish Collecting in Cincinnati: Part 2

Part 2 of my fish collecting in Cincinnati.  Some pictures of a large mouth bass and some cool minnows (ok they are not that cool).

Fish Collecting in Cincinnati, Ohio

Got some time to net local native fish in Cincinnati, Ohio (Lake Isabella).  Not as cool as South Florida natives, but still, I managed to get some interesting fish.

Here are some cool native snails.

This snail is pretty hair.  Needs a hair cut due to silly algae

A Cool Colony of Rainbow Darters (Etheostoma caeruleum)

 After many tries, I have managed to get some darters into my net.  I must say, rainbow darter is a very cool fish.  More people should keep them in aquariums.

Yes, i suck at taking photos.  Also, i think i should get one of those tiny tanks for taking pictures of wild fish.

My Former Stingrays

I have decided to post some old photos of my former stingrays.  I had to get rid of them all because I started traveling.  Still miss them dearly.  I had them in a custom made acrylic 450 gallon tank (8x4x2).
