Some More River Nerites Photos

Took some more photos of river nerites or Theodoxus fluviatilis.  There is a ton of them here, in the Dniester river.  If you have not heard about this river, it runs along Transnistria and Moldova.  These guys are pretty neat.  They are true freshwater nerties, yes, they actually breed in fresh water.  They only bad thing about them is their tiny size. They are about the size of a labybug. Other than that, they are great.  They do an amazing clean up job in an aquarium. Plus, they are fun to watch.

A closer look at their little nerite colony

Another Dniester snail specie.  I don't really know what they are, but they look pretty neat.  My friend has a small colony of them in his tropical tank.  So they are definitely tolerant of higher temps.
